139 - Creative cooking & Creative teams with chef Chris Barton

Hello and welcome to the The Spark & The Art creativity podcast. Thank you for subscribing to our weekly podcast, where we alternate between interviews with creative folks from all different career levels and insight and inspiration episodes. All with the intention you’ll get what you need to get your creative projects started and, more importantly, finished.

I’m your host Tucker and this week is an interview with Chris Barton a Chef who’s restaurant creates a new menu each week.

Chris recognizes the drain creating a new menu each week would be on him if he had to do it all alone. We talk about how important his team members are to both the creating of the dishes but also the success of the restaurant itself. We talk about the challenges of being in charge charge of this shared creativity and not wanting to say ‘no’ too often.

We also talk about the immense importance the support from his partner Danielle is to Chris being able to make his restaurant work. Plus we also talk about the terrible diets of chefs. And Parable is the word I was trying to think of when we start talking about that so you don’t have to yell at your screen.

So, here is today’s chat with Chef, Chris Barton

Do you know someone who’s interested in starting a restaurant of some kind? My hope is that you’d share this episode with them and they can get some insight into the work and the creativity it takes to make a venture like that work. The easiest way to share is to text or Facebook the short url TheSparkAndTheArt.com/139. The hardest way is to carve the url into the bark of a sapling and wait for it to grow into a tree and hope your friend notices when you finally invite them out to the picnic one spring.

And I rarely ask for reviews but if you happen to be in iTunes and enjoyed this episode it would incredibly helpful to the show if you took a couple minutes to write an honest review and star rating. I’ll even take a dishonest 5 stars I’m too proud.

Thanks for listening and remember: you won’t get the art without the work and you won’t do the work without the spark.
