This week’s interview is with animator Andrew Ford. Andrew just finished up as lead character animator on the movie The Book Of Life.
During our chat we talk about the challenge he’s having starting his own personal project and things he could do to get it into motion. We talk about his transition from animating motion capture scenes for video games to animating in feature films.
One of the things he talks about is the need to just stick with something. He says “I don’t think everyone has the talent to draw or doesn’t have the talent to draw. It’s more like ‘do you have the patience to stick with it?’” I think this is where a lot of people fall down in their creative pursuits, if they can’t get the results they want right away they figure they can’t do it. When in roost cases they just need to keep doing until they can.
I hope you enjoy today’s chat with Andrew Ford.
